The game was not as one-sided as the score suggests. Reds scored one goal from a deflection , one from a long punt from inside their own half, and one from a headed own goal. And I had a shot come off the post. Elvin was on fire again scoring two from mazy runs. Cedric scored the other from a wonderfully taken shot.
Not to take anything away from Reds performance, I thought we did better than Calvin's summary seems to suggest
I cannot help but draw a parallel with the later match in the evening which incidentally had the same scoreline - 4-2 which was followed by commentary in the press rather similar to Calvin's above ie. that out of Utd's 4 goals, 2 were offside, 1 was a fluke and the other a lucky header.....
Kudos to the Red team spirit with Charp, Joshua and Cedric full of running up front. In fact, other than Red defenders (Gus, Narendra and myself), the whole team did a lot of running with Paul and Gerard always on the move and never in the same spot. My MOTM was Paul tho' as he seems to be growing in confidence in both attack and defence and he made many vital interceptions running up and down the pitch not to mention his pin-point long passes to Gerard who always posed a danger lurking in White's box.
On White side, Elvin again was unstoppable and even when I thought I had him marked, he managed to shoot in the half-second after an abrupt turn which ended in the top right of the goal arrghhhhh!!! Thankfully, we had good counters and interactive play between Cedric, Joshua, Gerard and Paul and we managed to score another 2 after Whites tied the game at 2-2 midgame! Calvin also seems to have a much improved game being the main target striker, his positioning is such that he needs to be constantly marked, making space for Fred, Elvin and Vini to come in as well. Also all your body-building has reaped rewards for your holding your own physically on the ball and off
