Reds: Sivaraj, Sivan, Dennis, Raphael, Guolong, Ian (c) Whites: Senthil (c), Philip, Nick C, Stuart 3, Kong Fei, Reza
It was a cricket score at the Premier Pitch last night, which I think ended 18-4 in favour of Whites (or something like that, we stopped counting).
In truth, the teams appeared to be pretty even for the opening 15 minutes with Reds pulling back goals to level at 3-3 after Whites had taken the early initiative. However, due to poor/non-defending by Reds (who probably had too many attack-minded players), Whites scored 6 goals in quick succession after which Reds just collapsed mentally and never really recovered.
While Reds had 3 new players in their team (and it took time to understand and accomodate playing styles, strengths and temperaments), this should not detract from the fact that Whites were deserved winners as they were amply rewarded for superior positional play and more clinical finishing.

yes to echo Ian's point - and the whites were hungrier and had more players who didnt care about anything else apart from winning the game - aka Reza who didnt care - and just had to score - Sivan had just returned from his stint of injury and hiatus of a year and he was slowing trying to get into the game but poor Sivan, we didnt offer him enough protection from ruthless unforgiving mercenaries - truth be told, the team was slightly lopsided, but it was still a good run out even though Sivaraj lost his cool at a few of us from wayward shots - and Raphy was strangely subdued and off target quite a number of times and I hollered at the team on countless occasions for not marking up - the marking was really awful - it was non existent -
all in all still a fun game and I would do it again but maybe with a more balanced team to have more fun and to counter hungrier individuals who didnt care for anything except to win - nothing else mattered.
See you lot next week. thanks for the workout and nutmegs.....
