A game of two halves last night. We started almost on time and a backpass mistake by Jeff led to Shawn scoring the opening goal. The Whites then mounted a fight back to find an equalizer but only to be disrupted by a blackout. It took two attempts to get the lights going which ate up to almost 20 to 30 mins of the game.
The lights weren't fully restored and we played with 50% of the light switched on (Rajiv - can we request for some refund from Offside ?). Reds found their footing in the romantic ambiance and the whites seems to be lulled and captivated by reds footwork who raced to take a 6-0 lead. Kid you not, Reds did tried, but a goal seems to be a foot smaller and it seems too difficult to put the ball at the back of the net.
A wind of change came, sparked by Jamie's hard drive and turned into the goal by Delon. The floodgates then opened for the Whites. 6-1, 6-2, 6-3, 6-4, 6-5 and the game was fully turned on its head. At this point, a loose ball in midfield led to Jacko driving hard and flicked the ball towards goal that slipped through Jamie's hand due to the slippery ball, restoring Reds lead by 2 goal. Whites still having the momentum forced the issued and made it 6-7 and finally 7-7.
It took Song's cramped up calf to call the game with both sides having enough of the see-saw game. Good job by the reds to open such a wide gap and a final shout out to my White teammates who did not give up and kept on probing on a night which seems to be one of those nights where despite all the effort, the ball will not get into the goal.
Kieth's ball is used. Jamie needs to change his watermelon-inspired ball with a brighter ones
