Sean was slightly late and the Reds were disoriented by the 'unsettling' behaviour of their captain. He was tying shoelaces as te game progresses and by 5 mins, the white had raced to 2-0 lead with 2 great shots.
The 'best' goal shortly arrives when Sean 'Kelong' by lifting his leg and let the ball roll into goal for a 3-0 lead. The whites were dominant but the Reds were however surprising cool and till that point still not panicking or shouting at each other. (Sean felt that this was the turning point and impt factor and he added that he had given a team talk which I think most of us wondered when, lol)
The Reds scored their first goal after some fine constant attacking pressure and after Sean was removed from keeper and played center mid. The team were more cohesive and then very soon, it was 3-3. The Reds then went ahead to 5-3 shortly before the whites pulled one back to 5-4. But Delon scored with the next immediate attack pulling it to 6-4. This sequence repeats again with the score to 6-5 and next attack 7-5. From then on, the Reds just kept piling and the final score was 16-5.
Every other Reds got on the scoresheet while Delon scored 7 and Andy scored 4. Keith scored imo the best goal although we have a few long range shots from the mid court as his shot was intentional while the rest were actually meant as crosses for Delon.
Whites started really well scoring 3 goals without any reply from reds. But it was really just consolation goals scored early. Once Sean, Jacko and Daniel came out with all guns blazing, whites were unable to contain the firepower that they carried. Delon was running around whited defenced like at the training ground, maneuvering around training posts. The failure to pick out the free man meant that reds always managed to find the player at the far post to put the ball into a perpetually empty net.
Once redd overturned the scoreline from 3 down, they never looked back and whites were forced onto their back foot. The disjointed display and also a combination of some lucky and we'll taken goals spelt the demise of whites. Their spirits were deflated and egos smashed. Damage limitation didn't mean anything once reds pulled the scoreline to 10-5. In the end they managed to grab all the goals from all angles from all sorts of different players.
It was definitely a night to forget for whites. The only thing they could do was to wait for the storm to blow over and pick themselves back up again. Till then, and gos knows when that may be, things will never be the same again for whites.
