Whites won 5-2. Good game and workout. Reds were rather disjointed and could not cope with the Whites high press. Christian got a couple, Des got one goal for whites and one own goal. Can't remember who else scored. I chipped in with a few assists. Ball credit, please.
Man of the Match has to be Jye. Week in week out without fail he clears all the balls. All his tackles are absolutely spot on. Such sublime skill! He never put a foot wrong and ALWAYS makes clean contact with the ball. Never have i see Jye committing any fouls. Such is his calibre. Hats off! 1 can be sure you wont get injured if Jye is your opponent.
Yaseen messaged me after his report above to say he was being sarcastic. Previously, when I asked him about his injury in the game on Saturday, 20 June 2015, he told me Jye had crashed into him with a late tackle, but asked me to keep it to myself.
For this Saturday's game, he said Jye caught his ankle with a late tackle.
According to Yaseen, when he pointed out to Jye that the tackles were late, Jye said he was going for the ball.
As I've pointed out several times before, the rules provide as follows:
tackle where the sole of the shoe makes contact with an opposing player
raising of elbow
raising of knee when jumping
kicking or hacking a player.
tripping a player.
If significant contact is made with an opposing player by any of the above, it is a foul (even if the ball is won), with a free kick to the opposing side if committed outside the D and a penalty if committed inside the D. ....
We cannot eliminate the risk of injury. I just want to be sure the rules are complied with, in order to minimise the risk of injuries.
Going through an opponent to win the ball is a foul.
Feedback from other players, especially the selectors/captains, would be useful. If you don't want to post it on the forum, you can message me.
