Reds: Derian, Wilson, Chern Yang, Andy Ng, David, Andy M, Naz
Whites: Sean, Delon, Francis, Alex, Ray, Kelvin Au, Mark
Reds had the brighter start. Andy Ng suprised Mark with a nutmeg before slotting home. It was soon 2 nil to the Reds when the keeper (me) was unsighted and allowed Wilson's reverse pass to trickle into the net.
Whites had lady luck smiling on them as Kelvin's and Alex's long balls went straight into goal to equalize.
A defensive slip up from the Whites allowed Derian to bundle home and regain the lead for the Reds.
The match was a tight affair as the scoreline see-sawed in both directions. Whites equalised (delon robbing the ball from Chern Yang to slot home), and at a certain point took the lead at 5-4, before trailing 6-7.
In the end, Whites prevailed to win the game 9-7.
As many goals were scored, from my memory: Whites: Kelvin Au - added another 3 goals. Kudos to Kelvin who marked his return with an assured offensive performance. Ray - 2 goals. Slammed home one for a tight angle. The other, the match ending goal, was a header after a good run in from the flank to nod home Sean's self proclaimed "Pirlo" long ball from deep. Mark - had one long ball that crept in as well. Mark partnered Alex well in defence and bailed the whites out on several occasions (even while playing in goal).
Reds: Andy Ng had another, header from a defensive mix up between keeper alex and mark. Derian had another 2 or 3 goals. David, aka the pals "hope", Nil.
A game of tight margins that could have gone either way.
