I've added the team captain poll. I've included everyone who has played at least 12 games in the current 6 month period or 25 games over the past 3 years. As there are a couple of new players, and another who hasn't played for some time, I will discuss line ups with the captains.
No votes yet in the team captain poll. I'll suggest line ups. Keeping Mark Chuah with the two players he has introduced, and his re-introducer Dennis, as well as the two others Dennis introduced or re-introduced, we have:
I'll leave the poll open until 6 pm for the team captains to be elected. Team captains can agree on colours.
Flexibility and accommodation extends to making changes during the game. If one team is dominating the game and take a big lead in the first half of the game which appears unassailable, ..., team selectors/captains need to consider what changes to line ups and formations are necessary to keep the game competitive. The onus is greater when the scoreline is or approaches one that is grossly one-sided, as defined in the Appendix below. ....
The basis on which I suggested the line ups is set out very clearly in the first post above. I know nothing more than those playing, probably a lot less, since I'm not even familiar with several of the regulars. When there is a higher proportion of new players or players who haven't played for a while, the captains do bear a greater responsibility. Sometimes, the captains on the ground just have to grasp the nettle and make the changes.
Apart from the two new players, whose ages I do not know, and Chris, who is in his mid-30s, the ages of the rest of the players range from the late-30s to mid-40s, with the oldest two on whites, so I'm not sure how big a factor age could have been.
It's very difficult to 'swap' when the entire team is wrong and down by one from the get go. Dennis offered to swap but really even after when he swapped w the injured kong fei it didn't make a difference.
Very one sided game but equally very sour grapes from Calvin as you give no credit to the fact that whites gelled very well on the night and scored some great Individual and team goals and worked incredibly hard at the back.
A more substantial swap should have been made and could have been insisted on. Clearly if two or three swapped it would have made a difference otherwise you are suggesting we shouldn’t have even had a game on the night based on then 12 listed!
Also people shouldn’t play who know they are injured before they start when there is a waitlist as that’s not fair or the others who do play or those hoping for a spot.
To be clear, l didn’t ‘contest’ any decision. I called an infingement a response was given and I accepted it. That is not contesting it. Some of your football knowledge is also clearly left wanting, such as if it hits your arm above the elbow it is not a handball... Watch Lineker’s disallowed goal in world cup 90 against the Dutch when he chested it down only to be told it touched his bicep not his chest. Additionally ball to hand/arm is a handball when your arms are raised. Watch how Terry always has his hands behind his back so he can’t be called on that.
As I said , when a man isn't gracious it is a sign of a character flaw. Calling someone sour grapes isn't gracious. And the quick rebuttal to a no names report quickly shows who the person is. And isn't it ironic when the chap says he wasn't contesting a decision and follows up with a long report contesting it ? Lol.
And no my arm wasn't raised. Since you are clearly contesting it.
Then you fail to acknowledge the quality of the players your own team. We may have won 15-1, and there was an inbalance in the sides, but there were good players in your team too so to win by such a score evidences that we also played well on the night too.
Regarding air rifles, lol, I’m sorry for being able to strike a football!
Dennis was very gracious and a good man. He offered to swap a few times specifically offering Rafa to us and even came over himself for our injured player. But as I said, the only way to have evened things up was to re jig the entire line up both ways and given that we would then have had to play skins it wasn't worth the bother.
Best to leave it at that Rafa instead of weighing in and praising yourself for playing well and calling me sour grapes. Completely unnecessary.
Think you find that I praised the performance of whites as a team, in the absence of any acknowledment in your initial comments as I said. Nothing wrong with that, nor is there in saying that a review that focuses 100% on the unfairness of the sides without any commentary or consideration of how either side played comes across as sour grapes.
