Tightly fought game througout with Reds edging ahead towards the end and holding on.
Highlights were: - Stuart scoring with a throw out from goal straight into the goal at the other end - Great to see Arek open the scoring with a tidy volley early on - Stuart also scoring a decent hat-trick on the night - Rayan twisting and turning and causing a constant nuisance in attack for the Reds - Steffen perservering with his long range efforts but unsually off target - Cedric finding space well and linking up nicely with Ian for a few goals - Shaiful solid as ever at the back - Neil's frustration when he missed a great opportunity from wide right near the end - Perminder fnding lots of space up front for the Whites, only to be kept out by Damian and Arek on many occasions
Finally, for those who are interested, I was floored with a dead leg from a knee following through in the thigh from John early in the match that left me hobbling for the rest of the game. I remain with an excruciatingly painful limp this morning (and no sleep last night due to the pain in any position) resulting in some rather strange looks from commuters as I staggered through the CBD. Thought about going MC today as it is so bad but hoping it will clear up in the coming days. No bruise appeared yet but here's waiting....
There was a very heavy downpour at about 8.20 pm, with lightning and thunder, but it eased by 8.45 pm. Anyway, the game was on a covered pitch, to the bigger issue would have been players delayed by traffic conditions affected by the heavy rain.
