By the way, I take it this is the "pony trick" that got Dennis all heated up:
Maybe a bit disrespectful, maybe better seen in a circus than a football match, but still worth a bit of applause right? And of course, in a circus, while perhaps cheaper to watch, the circumstances wouldn't be as challenging, which makes the feat all the more admirable when performed in a top level football match.
On a separate note, the WhatsApp group chat and the schedule thread for the game today (Sunday) at The Grandstand meandered through various topics, some Valentines Day related. It led me to Tinie Tempah's "Lover Not A Fighter", an artist, and a song, I had not heard before:
The lyrics include the following:
"Well I'm a lover not a fighter So I kiss that girl and say goodbye now Cause I came for kicks not for arguments No woah oh oh 'Cause I'm a lover not a fighter"
"Cause I came for kicks, not for arguments", a sentiment that should very much be applied to our games!
I'll re-name this thread "GIFFA soundtrack", to include all songs that crop up in the context of issues relating to our games. Music and song provide both the beat and the metaphors. And from the WhatsApp group chat:
I've changed the subject of this thread from "Ziggy Stardust" to "GIFFA soundtrack".
