Kicking or hacking an opponent, or tripping an opponent, are not allowed and may be regarded as serious foul play.
The following are also not allowed during a game:
raising of foot above knee level.
tackle from behind
any action where the sole of the shoe makes contact with an opposing player
raising of elbow
raising of knee when jumping
If significant contact is made with an opposing player by any of the above, it is a foul (even if the ball is won), with a free kick to the opposing side if committed outside the D and a penalty if committed inside the D. The converse is that if there is no significant contact, there is no foul and the game continues. In this context, at its simplest, "significant contact" means contact materially over and above that which is normally incidental to, or to be expected, in our games. Football is a contact sport. Our games are for adults.
The selectors informed me that the situation was under control, and one of the two players concerned, who over-reacted, was spoken to by one of the more experienced players after the game.
The player who first informed me of what happened was not one of the selectors, not one of the players concerned, and not the experienced player who spoke to the player concerned. It was effectively a complaint against the player who over-reacted.
PLEASE READ TO THE END OF THIS THREAD. YOUR PARTICIPATION IN OUR GAMES IS PREMISED ON IT.

I rely on information provided to me. To this end:
Information from a team selector/captain relating to a particular player on that player's team carries the greatest weight.
Information from the opposing team selector/captain carries significant weight.
Information from players who are not team selectors or captains will carry such weight as may be appropriate, taking into account how many games the player has played in the current 6 month period or current 3 year period, the number of players providing the same, similar or related information, and the manner in which the information is provided.
If the matter was dealt with during and after the game, I will treat it as closed.
Reds quickly raced to a comfortable 2 goal lead at the start of the game. Whites tried hard but wasn't decisive enough to close the gap early. Sean scored an opener for the Whites but was replied quickly by Reds to make it 3-1. Goals were traded and Whites found themselves trailing 5-2 with close to 20 mins to go. Reds scored 2 goals with clever advantage play - one for a handball and second for a foul; Whites could have done better then to stand around expecting the game to stop.
Whites pushed hard with Jordi, Sean, Nic causing problems upfront, 2 quick goals were scored and an equalizer were conceded when an injured Paul could not collect the ball properly from Jacko's backpass. Keeping both Jacko and Jon at bay allowed Whites to take the lead 6-5 through nic after a great throw out from Tim. Quickly enough, Whites equalized to make it 6-6. Last goal was called and Captain George ventured up and finished off the quick exchange move between Sean, Jordi and George.
Whites completed the comeback to win a closely contested game at 6-5.
I was informed that there was some overly physical challenges during the game, particularly between two players.
Yes, issue was settled during the game. However, the offending player should have apologized which I believe did not happen during and maybe even after the game. It is a blatant tackle and credit to the tackled player, he did not retaliate (top marks buddy) or reacted violently.
