For everyone to see I was frustrated with yday’s game. The sources of my frustration came from three areas:
1) Liren: you have to consider passing the ball earlier. It will make you a better player instantly. Additionally, it stops to spread frustration within the team. I found it hard to chase every ball with 100% when I see you dilly-dally in our own half, not creating anything with the ball but only gracefully touching it, just waiting for the opponent to run at you and steal the ball off you. If there is nobody to pass the ball to then just pump it up.
2) Kien: we conceived 10 goals (big pitch, sat/sun, way too high number of goals conceived). There were no soft goals, and I remember some very good saves from Paul and Gerard as keepers. You have the experience, respect, and skill-set to organize the defence, and be vocal. You have to step up and show more leadership as a center back. I don’t recall the last game won with 10 goals conceived. It’s too much.
3) From the other team I was unhappy with the calls made. I mean every decision seemed to go against us and were mostly called by Honda. Why is he allowed to call everything? He was neither directly involved in the incidents nor captain. Fine, it’s not a major issue but what got to me is when I told him his calls were against Giffa rules and I got trashtalked to for pointing that out. I mean, handball has been discussed fairly excessively over the past six months or so due to a few incidents. The latest suggestion from Rajiv from a 17nov15 comment is
“My aim is to keep our games flowing and to avoid getting bogged down in technical rules. As deliberate handball is a controversial area, unless it is reasonably clear that there was contact between the ball and a player's hand or arm, and that the contact was deliberate on the part of the player, it is not a foul.”
Your response of “if it impacts a chance, it is a handball” just shows that you are not familiar with the rules.
We should aim to leave the calls to the directly involved players and if they can’t agree then the captains decide. If you push or in the above case insist on calls one should at least be familiar with the rules.
At 3:3, the two decisions and two goals that resulted from it in quick succession did affect the game. not denying reds would have won anyway. they played better.
