Despite rumblings that the teams were uneven initially, it turned out to be a very edgy and high scoring game for both sides. Whites started a lot more hyper and scored 3 goals in succession before Reds woke up with Elvin drawing us even at 3-3. After that, there was a good amount of ebb and flow, thrust and stab and defend from both sides. Backxxx and Jon were really splitting the Red's defence open with their effervescent running and robust play while Tim/Perminder and Heato/Deershan kept a tight defence line. However, on Reds side, Elvin was on his scoring best and supported by the very clever play by Albert and Gerard up front, Reds managed to go 2 goals in front to 6-4 with Elvin scoring another brace. However, Whites were not daunted and continued their freeflowing play with Honda coordinating the mid. Jon had an AWESOME shot from the right wing and it just blasted into the goal while Christian also scored some close range goals. I was also on the scoresheet scoring not for the Reds but for the Whites as a shot deflected off my back foot into goal! |Ughhhhhh
Whites then had a spell where they scored 4 goals straight and took the lead at 8-6. However, Whites seemed to tire in the final quarter and Reds capitalised by attacking more. This earned us a draw at 8-8!! Very exciting game at this stage with Shaiful also going up into attack. Near to 6, we agreed to last ball and that came rather quickly for Whites in a close range affair after some scrambling.
My poor friend young Marcus had a rather rude introduction to our rather intense and robust Sun match and was rather intimidated after just 10 mins! He opted to play Goalie which was also not a safe place given Whites free flowing form, shooting ability and size!! Next time I must remember to warn new players to our games about the intensity hehee...definitely not a Sun afternoon kick about as I described to convince them to come and play.

Very hot on Sunday and felt like a 2 hour game; I thought Damian was playing mind games when he said there were 20 minutes to go as it felt like we had been on the pitch forever!
Sorry to Marcus if he felt intimidated, obviously not the aim from the whites side. I was rusty after a few months out and caught people late a few times so apologies for that. I hope Marcus isn't put off coming again as he was a good addition. Look forward to seeing everyone next week!
