Everyone, please bring both a white top and a red top in any event.
..., we'll decide it there [whether big pitch or small pitch].
We ended up playing 6-a-side on the big pitch by default. As the line ups were put up quite late, we just went with the colour we were wearing, so:
Whites: Rajiv, Leo, Julius, Kannan, Stephen, David H Reds: Look Liew, Azmi, Poh Keng, Martijn, Rainer, Yip Weng
Turned out to be a good game. It was close until 5-5. With about 5 minutes to go, Whites got caught on the break three times to fall 5-8 behind, but grabbed a late consolation in "extra time", to finish 8-6 to Reds.
The ball caught David in the face at 3-3, and he went off for about 10 minutes. Reds were restricted to scoring within the "D", but tough on the big pitch with just 5 players! Reds went 5-4 ahead during that time, but Whites grabbed an equalizer soon after Dave came back on. Dave then had a great chance to put Whites ahead for the first time, but hit the post from close range. Still getting back into the game I guess. Reds scored on the counter-attack, the first of their 3 late goals.
We need to run a bit more than usual due to plenty of space to cover and the defending team usually dropped deep into their half so quick counter attack is the way to go... and that was how the reds did in the last 3 goals. Tiring, but everyone did their best to keep pace with the game. Cheers guys.
