Rai called about 20 minutes ago to say that due to a miscommunication, Andre can't make it. I sent out a mass SMS for a replacement and got 3 almost instantaneous confirmations - Clive, Stanley and Sajith, all of whom are keen to play. I think we'll have to go 8-a-side for today. Not something we want to do regularly. We may need some time to sort out the line ups. Everyone, please bring both a white top and a black top in any event. and tried my best to split the teams down the middle anyway we can always swap midway if necessary Black: Rai Low, Eric Y (Rai's Friend), Bryan (Rai's Friend), Jon, Ace, Ben, Sajith, John J White: Dan L, Mike (Justin's Fren), Nic H, Justin, Stanley, Clive, Bobby, Andy P Rai SMSed me after the game to say it was "awesome". Add any other comments below. The player poll will only be included if the report thread is put up by someone who played in the game.

Ok, been putting off these comments for a while now. To a certain extent, I think a certain level or frustration is getting to the players. Let me try and put down my thoughts into words.
Harshness of the game: While everyone here knows football is a physical game, I would like to reiterate that our games should not be too physical. There have been instances where I had seen and physically received blatant knocks and bruises. They were result of the following: -leading into a 50/50 challenge with an elbow, knee or studs (which are not suppsed to be allowed) -turning with elbows firm and ready for hits -sliding tackles (nuff said)
In game "coaches": We should always talk during the game to srategise and to support each other. Thats the only way to get a team sport to work. There can be many forms of support. This had however been brought to a wrong level in our games - swearing at team mates - commanding team mates to play to an individual's style
Being the keeper: Guys, everyone like to either score goals or be the one claiminh the assist to a goal. Be fair, everyone should rotate and have a go at the posts. There have been many times where players just ignore requests to go into goal.
Studs: While I understand its unreasonable to request for all to get either stubbies or turf shoes, players with blades or studs need to be more aware of their footwear. I have personally been stomped on by studs and shins bruised by studs; it isn't fun. I agree that most of the time they are accidents, but if you insist on wearing studs, you have to be ready to pull your foot back when entering an awkward position.
Lets keep the game fun, a form of exercise for all of us working adults. The last thing i need after a lonh fay of work is another stress out session comprising of stud battered legs, verbally abuse on a pitch and not getting to play because I got stuck in goal.
Ley me know what you guys think. Im only doing this to try and fix little things in an already great set-up.

For some reason I doubt anyone reads this section but for what it's worth, I do look forward to the sessions with clean good fun.
Kinda realized also that at times instead of getting support, sone players get rather discouraging words instead.
Studs wise, yes, have had a few bad ones as well as elbows, knees and last minute tackles. Certainly would be good for all to be aware of their approach during tackles as again wouldn't be too good to eventually have someone really injured during any of our games.
All in all, kinda miss the fun sessions where everyones concern for everyone, contributing well to fellow team mates winning or losing and most of all heading home with no serious knocks or bruises.
