Only two votes, less than the minimum required, so poll is void. No elected selectors last week either, so the default selectors are the two players with the most number of games in the current 6 month period. That would be Nazriee with 47 games and Anthony with 46 games. Line ups to follow.
Line ups as posted by Nazriee on the WhatsApp group chat at 4.40 pm:
Whites: Anthony, Ray, Guolong, Lester, Chin Hee, Kong Fei, George
.... To spread the benefit around more, with effect from the game tomorrow (31 Aug 2019), I will split the $2 credit into $1 credits for the first two from each team to do a report. Priority for the following week's game will only be for the first from each team to provide a report, but I will consider extending it in the future to the second player from each team to do so. I would rather the rush be to provide reports for games (which benefits everyone, and the system) rather than to be the first to put one's name down for the following week's game (which only benefits the player concerned, at the expense of the system).
White took an early lead through a mistake from the keeper and continued to increase their lead, while keeping a clean sheet. After half an hour the score was 5-0 to White. White’s defence then fell apart and Red got 6 goals back to take the lead. Red would have won the game but a late keeper error allowed White to equalise. Final score was 6 all.
A strong start by Reds who was compact while Whites was in disarray. Reds got the 5-0 lead and it looked like it was pretty much damage control for Whites for the rest of the game. Goals were conceded due to awful mistakes, bad defending and lapse of concentration. Not that Reds were overrun but they weren't able to put the ball in the goal due to some good defending/goalkeeping and extremely glaring misses and the same time leaking goals at the back. Then the Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde moment for Reds kicked in where they rallied back to get the goals and equalized. With a few minutes to go, Reds took the lead and made it 6 goals.
Reds closed the game with the ugly complacency rearing its head - a bad pass was intercepted with an open goal for the Whites to equalize. Game ended at 6-6. In all fairness, Whites didn't deserve to lose but the manner Reds played through the whole night and didn't win the game with virtually the last mistake/goal of the night was demoralizing. Only a round of 7 cans of 100 plus provided by Capt Naz pacified the team.
