Whites generally had more shot attempts than reds, but superb goalkeeping and not so accurate finishes reflected in the scoreline. Reds goals were well taken when allowed, and missed the final last kick to win the game when Sean did his last ditch save to stop Calvin 1 on 1. Good run out for most! 3-3 final score.

Mistake by Reds keeper (me) opened the scoring for Whites. Whites tried to move around well however Reds doing the closing down well. Whites not able to do a hold up upfront and passes did break down. At one point, Reds found it a little difficult to control the ball and were panicking. Overall, Calvin did well upfront with a good header and almost scoring the winner at the end. Hustling well upfront. Kenny brought a high energy game and probably the MoM for the Reds.
Whites got stability in the form of David at the back intercepting the passes that Reds made.

May I add.... it would be nice to start on time at Mattar road as the lights go off punctually at 10pm unlike other venues where we can squeeze out 5-10 mins more despite being late.
Not single-ing anyone out here as we all have our sporadic moments but one to take note.
Thanks.
To quote Rajiv and save him the trouble. Lol
“As set out above, the session is scheduled to start 10 minutes before the hour. The first 10 minutes are for team selectors to meet the players and consider any changes in line ups, as well as discuss formation, team organization and tactics. The game starts on the hour sharp.”

It was a close game throughout as teams were just 1 goal apart. Score was 2-all after half an hour before both teams scoring one more each, making it 3-all. Both teams played well.

From above: May I add.... it would be nice to start on time at Mattar road as the lights go off punctually at 10pm unlike other venues where we can squeeze out 5-10 mins more despite being late. Not single-ing anyone out here as we all have our sporadic moments but one to take note. .... Another player informed me that it was Anthony who was late. I have confirmed this with the captains. From the "GIFFA values, principles & standards" thread: .... From the report thread for the night game on Monday, 24 Jan 2020, at Macpherson: 3 players voted that they should be deprived of their additional $1 credit and no player voted against, but I think I need more players to vote before I deprive the captains of their additional credit, so I will give it to them this time. However, they will be excluded from the selector poll for all games for three weeks (until 14 February 2020). Just a reminder that captains should take their responsibilities seriously, including being early. The credits (like the penalties and admin fees) are token, but penalties, admin fees and withholding of credits are intended to serve as a reminder that players shouldn't ignore the repeated reminders. .... One of the two captains was Anthony Goh. And from the report thread for the evening game on Sunday, 2 Feb 2020 at Grandstand, after it came to my attention that Anthony was late again: .... I have reminded Anthony several times about being punctual. .... .... Those who play at Grandstand are generally fussier about punctuality. For weeknight games, players may from time to time be held up at work, so we may excuse occasional late coming, especially if the player provides an early heads up and apology on the WhatsApp group chat, but for weekend games, there is less excuse. Those who choose to play particular games should make a greater effort to conform to the standards and reasonable or legitimate expectations of those who regularly play in that game, including collateral expectations such as punctuality. Returning to Gerard's point in the WhatsApp group chat, it is the frequency of Anthony's late-coming that is particularly galling. At the very least, an apology on this thread is required to receive the report credit and any first report priority for the following week's game. I may also put up a poll to allow players to vote on whether Anthony should be blocked from the Grandstand games for a period of time. Sorry for being late on Sunday will be on time in future. I trust Anthony will stick to his word, and I did not add any poll. However, Anthony Goh's exclusion from the selector/captain poll has been extended to 28 February 2020. No point a player whose compliance with the basic requirements of our game is under scrutiny being allowed to be selector/captain. .... There was no heads up on the WhatsApp group chat. Nor is there an apology on this thread: Until there is a satisfactory explanation from Anthony, I am withholding first report priority for Anthony for all games. I am considering other sanctions as well.

Anthony's team captain asked me to give him another chance, so this time, I will just withhold his $1 credit for his report. However, if there is no improvement, I will suspend him from all games other than slow-filling games for a period of one month.
